What an honor to welcome the United Nations Association of Santa Barbara, 2025 Peace Prize

Recipient Unite to Light and Megan Birney Rudert.

Megan Birney Rudert is the President & CEO of Unite to Light, a Santa Barbara CA, nonprofit that provides solar light and power to people living without electricity—whether they’re students studying at night, midwives delivering babies in the dark, or families displaced by disaster. With a Master’s in Public Policy and over a decade of experience in clean energy and nonprofit leadership, Megan is passionate about using simple, scalable technology to promote equity, resilience, and climate solutions.

Under her leadership, Unite to Light has expanded its global impact through partnerships with organizations like Child Fund, Solar Sister, Rotary and Direct Relief. Megan believes that access to light and power is foundational to education, healthcare, and opportunity—and that everyone deserves the chance to thrive. www.uitedtolight.org
