October 24, 2020 The United Nations celebrated its 75th Anniversary as our global voice. The United Nations founded in 1945, rose out of the ashes of World War II and was founded to save succeeding generations from the scorch of war, which twice has brought untold sorrow to our world. In this podcast we are reminded of the UN’s accomplishments and how the UN works to reaffirm our fundamental human rights.
The Santa Barbara United Nations Association and the Rotary eClub of World Peace were co-sponsors, as together we work for peace to improve lives across the world. Rotary, founded in 1905, was at the signing of the UN Charter. Today there are 35,000 Rotary Clubs and hundreds of UNA’s around the world working on solutions to problems that hinder world peace
