When I think of Rotary, the Rotary Action Group for Peace (RAGFP), and Peace Builder Clubs in Columbus Ohio, I think of Tom Carlisi, coach, counselor, trainer, and founder of Carlisi and Associates. When Non-Violent Communication (NVC) is mentioned in Columbus Ohio, Thomas Carlisi again shows up. And when you think about youth peace builders, Tom is thanked for creating Youth Service Learning (S-L) for Middle School programs like “Young Peacebuilders” for ages 10-14 years and Youth Voice in Community for ages 13-14. And if that’s not enough, he created an online learning series “Empowering Peacebuilders” in collaboration with the RAGFP for Conflict Prevention/Resolution. As Tom says peace and conflict prevention requires all of the above and remember to think of peace first in everything we do and communicate.
