Marilyn Tam, is a Speaker, Author, Consultant, Board Certified Executive & Corporate Coach. She was formerly the CEO of Aveda Corp., President of Reebok Apparel and Retail Group; and Vice President of Nike Inc. Hard to believe one so accomplished grew up as an abused and neglected child in Hong Kong. Was it the National Geographic magazines that showed her Africa and helped her resolve to visit and help? Leaving home as a teen, she moved to America alone, and after college wanted to work for the UN but was rejected, for lack of work experience.
This turned into a life commitment to do what you can with what is right in front of you. You will see how the coincidences miraculously appeared and how they helped her implement her life mission to help others.
Meeting Robert Muller in Santa Barbara, CA took her on a journey to Bhutan, (known as the happiest country in the world) to ask the king to help create an International Day for Happiness. This story alone is one to make this podcast totally unforgettable and will show you how dreams can come true, no matter what! Her story would make a great Netflix movie.
What was it about Robert that made her take this trip? Was it his optimism, his enthusiasm for a day for happiness or his belief that she could accomplish this miracle? She says it didn’t happen over night but it was accomplished and March 20, is now the International Day of Happiness.
Marilyn’s life is an inspiring example of what can be achieved if one follows their dreams and is open to how the Universe helps.
