Lessons Learned from Women Peacemakers
Imagine interviewing 60 Women Peacemakers around the world to learn the hidden side of peacemaking. First it was for her Ph.D. and then these interviews and wisdom ignited Barbe Chambliss’ book: Women Peacemakers, What We Can Learn From Them.
As Barbe says, “ I have been gathering the stories of Peacemakers for over thirty years. Over time, I have seen similar patterns in the work of these valuable citizens of our world are doing.” In this Peace Podcast, you will learn about how their work comes to them, how they go about doing it, how they deal with obstacles, how they find sustenance, perseverance, and joy in the process. It’s about leveling the field of opportunity for those who have been oppressed, averting war and creating a world where war is unnecessary.
Barbe and I explore the 24 lessons from the work of these beloved Peacemakers. Each lesson is a recipe one can follow to practice peacemaking.
These lessons start with: Be Awake when the opportunity presents itself. Add 23 more lessons to wake up the Peacemaker in you and in as many people as possible.
Invite others to join you to hear Barbe and have a conversation about what you can do today to bring peace to our communities and world.
