We gathered for the final meeting of the Peace Book Club with our grateful hearts – for Robert Muller’s guidance from his lessons learned and shared in Most of All They Taught Me Happiness. Ambassador Anwarul K. Chowdhury’s opening address was our guiding light as he shared how happiness was Robert’s special gift to the world and for his work at the United Nations. The Ambassador is a special friend of the King of Bhutan, Jaigme Singye Wangchuck, and is a proponet of their Concept of Gross National Happiness (GNH) and suggested every country should also have GNH.
Peace Book Club Members, Dr. Gerri Schwartz and Dr. Desmond Berghofer of the Visioneers presented the 2023 Hero of Humanity Award to Ambassador Chowdhury, to recognize and celebrate his lifetime achievement and contributions to Peace in the world. This award is the Visioneers most prestigious award for peace and community well-being. Congratulations Ambassador Chowdhury!
A group meditation followed led by Barbara accompanied by Tami Briggs and her beautiful Harp. Robert’s Ode to Joy reminded us to let our love be a mindful gesture of extending and expanding our unity so that we have a common ground – of meaning, beauty, celebration, joy, peace and happiness.
We hold a reverence for all humankind.
Feeling the awe of the many people who have come before us who contributed to the common cause of the human family. We bow in deep gratitude.
As the UN has worked for peace all these years, let our individual and collective messages ripple out and be carried forth as beautiful messages of peace. Let us do that now. Peace be with you … and so it is …
Let peace prevails on Earth.
