I am Barbara Gaughen-Muller and it is my honor to be the host for over 100 PEACE PODCAST’s.
Each guest deeply understands the link between peace, health, and happiness in our everyday life. As an old Irish saying goes, “ It is in the shelter of others that people live.” Could this be what keeps Gang members in their gangs?
Talking about and understanding Gangs is not easy. Gregorio ‘Greg’ Estevane, P.I.:J.D. (GE) from San Diego, CA, is working as a government investigator (county of Riverside), a contract investigator for the United States Federal (U.S.) FDIC / RTC, contract investigator for the CA Dept. of Justice, describes the gang situation today.
“ You cannot arrest and imprison your way out of gang crimes and organized crime, which impacts world peace.” In his words there is room for hope with programs like Homeboy Industries in LA run by a Jesuit Priest Father Greg Boyle and other wrap around models infused with Father Boyles own methods. Gang members have made amazing transformations when they feel cherished.
One book he recommends: “A World of Gangs” by Dr. John Hagedorn. Visit Greg’s website for more information: www.gangexpert.net
