It is my pleasure to introduce Gordon McInally, President, Rotary International. Our conversation started with his words for peace from his President’s Messages in Rotary’s monthly magazine:
“If we are to Create Hope in the World, we must aggressively wage peace”.
Listen as he shares how he saw peace in action while visiting Rotary Clubs and their districts. He saw the future hopes of Rotarians in their collective and individual work, showing how promoting and creating peace starts with each of us.
He shares a moment in Rwanda when he saw photographs of fallen victims and wondered is Peace Really Possible? And the next day when visiting a Peace and Reconciliation Village he met a young woman survivor and witnessed how she was bravely changing enemies into friends and then he knew, when we are at peace, others can be inspired to become peaceful.
This inspiring conversation is one you may wish to share with others and have a conversation about what you can do today for peace. As Gordon says , “Any work toward building peace needs to be brave and bold”. Thank you Gordon for your Rotary year of inspiration and Peacebuilding.
