Recently I was invited to be the weekly speaker for the Rotary Club Sebastopol Sunrise in CA.  I was excited because I wanted to try the Laser Talk Formula from Chapter 21 in Sam Daley–Harris’s Book Reclaiming Our Democracy.  PeacePodcast.org #124

Step number 1, Engage the audience, I shared my story of what happened when I told a woman I was working on Ending War 101. She went ballistic and told me all the reasons she hates war and I had to agree with her, I too hate war. So to the next woman I said “The World is crying out for peace” as RI President Gorden McInally, PeacePodcast.org #133, wrote in the Rotary Magazine. And we had a conversation about what we could do to end war. I shared the QR code for the Ending War 101 course.

My words got their attention as you will see in this video. Next I shared the Problem and the causes of war.  Solutions came next with examples of countries who are demilitarized, like Costa Rica which ended the funding of the military in 1948 and how the money is used for health care, free education, etc.

The Call to Action, what did I want them to do? I presented specific actions as you will hear. When I finished, I got a standing ovation. I hope my examples, presented in this Podcast is your call to action for a world at Peace via Rotarians & Rotary.
