It is an honor to introduce our UNASB 8th Annual Peace Prize Awardee Jane Olson in her inspiring Peace Podcast.
I was brought to tears 3 times with her stories, from some of the world’s most forsaken places in her 425 page turner book, World Citizen, Journeys of A Humanitarian.
Ken Roth, Executive Director, Human Rights Watch
Says “Her accounts do not dwell on the dismal but elevate those who work and hope for something better. She combines a journalist’s eye and turn of phrase with the compassion and empathy of a genuine humanitarian. What emerges amid the horrors of injustice is a celebration of humanity.”
Jane explains she was a woman shaken into action by what she saw as devasting conditions and treatment of people, which shattered her to her core and she wanted to witness the plight of vunerable people and advocate on their behalf. Jane has worked for decades as a volunteer at Human Rights Watch and the Women’s Refugee Commission in New York and is founding chair of the Landmine Survivors Network and led the board for years.
Jane Olson, we honor your for your life’s work.
