Arzu is a retired Telecommunications Engineer, a dedicated full-time Rotarian, and a Peacebuilder. As she says, life is a journey and if you are open, life provides opportunities to grow your wisdom and skills. Especially for Rotary’s collaborative projects and services.
Her peacebuilder role in Rotary progressed rapidly with the onset of Covid and her global use of digital communication. In collaboration with RAGFP, she has played a catalyst role in adding peace to the Agenda in her District. Imagine Arzur’s impact on 1000+ Registrants from 64 countries who participated in the many Global Conferences, she helped plan from conception to implementation.
She brought 40 Rotaractors into the RAGFP and assisted them to gain a District Grant to address ‘Don’t Fight! Talk it out’. She later went on to be Country Co-ordinator for the joint program with World Beyond War and RAGFP and formed a Peace Club, which had a Peace Fellow as its first President. She has been a member of her District Peace Committee.
Many of the beautiful RAGFP videos shown today were designed and produced by Arzu, bringing together multiple Rotarians for DEI and “Peace Education and Action For Impact” in online training events. She was part of the Sun Never Sets on Rotary event with the RAGFP.
In short, she has a well-established, committed journey into peace, both within her District, globally and with RAGFP. She likes to serve to bridge the peace gaps in communities with the awareness of peace language, inner peace projects, and digital facilities.
