Dr. Paula Garb knows the horrors and trauma of war from the experiences of her father who survived a pogrom in 1919 in civil war Russia, and from her son who was a TV cameraman in war zones. As Paula says no one wins in a war. Listen as you hear her personal journey to building peace.
Paula is the co-founder of the Center for Citizen Peacebuilding and for 20 years was a co-director. Since 1994, she has facilitated citizen dialogues and taught peaceful problem-solving skills in conflict zones in South Caucasus and the Middle East. Her books and articles and her life story show her commitment to promoting peace literacy in school.
What is the impact of war on veterans, war correspondents, families? The war in Ukraine is personal for Paula, as her family and grandchildren are living in Russia now. We explore this sad state of affairs and the role of women to prevent war before it starts.
