When Robert Muller returned home from visiting his family he found that his roommate, Slavko, was now in the hospital with Tuberculosis. Leaving his suitcase on the landing, Robert rushed to the hospital. Slavko took a few shallow breaths and asked Robert to go to the library and bring him every book he could find by Emile Coue. Robert found a copy of Emile Coue’s Self-Mastery Through Autosuggestion. Coue claimed that people could use their imaginations to restore their bodies to perfect health. Robert jotted down Coue’s idea as he rode the bus to the hospital. Robert asked if Slavko believed this. “I merely asked you to bring me the book, but someday Emile Coue may save your life. He saved mine.” You must read the rest of this amazing Chapter 6, in PROPHET.
A big Thank you, to author Douglas Gillies for capturing the life of my late husband, Robert Muller, so vividly. Dyanne Routh, our speaker, introduces Chapter 6, and explains how she uses Coue’s words every morning as she wakes up and before she goes to bed “It works,” she said. She is living proof of the optimism she learned from Robert and thanks him for her healthy attitude. She has been reading Robert’s books, writings, and personal meetings, since age 11 when her Aunt introduced her to the United Nations Robert Muller’s papers and writings. Dyanne suggested that we invite our monthly attendees to share how Robert influenced them also and so you will hear some amazing thanks and stories from guests, like Brian Berman who opens this episode with how a talk by Robert Muller inspired him. And a text I received after our Chapter 6, “Of all the peace movements “events” I am/have been involved in, the book club is the most inspirational! “You can listen to the full recording of Chapter 6 on PeacePodcast.org. Enjoy!
