Irene Kai, is an internationally know artist, author, speaker and co-founded the Ashland Culture of Peace Commission. Ms. Kai was born and raised in Hong Kong, immigrated to the United States at 16. Her powerful gifts, her ability to use her intuition has led her on a journey for Peace. Handed a concert ticket she saw John Lennon sing “Imagine”. She was led to the Peace Flame in Wales which she brought to Ashland, Oregon. It was lit on September 21, 2018, the International Day of Peace, in the Thalden Pavilion, Sustainability Center on the Southern Oregon University (SOU) campus in Ashland, Oregon. This symbol of peace, unity, freedom and celebration aims to inspire people everywhere that the individual plays a crucial role in creating peace at every level.
