Chapter 7 is brought to life by Sanford Hinden, a long-time friend of Robert Muller. As Sandy says, Robert was a friend, mentor, and inspiration, for 30 years working with Robert in New York. Sanford shares his PowerPoint that shows the vision and dreams of this man of peace. He brings to life Robert’s 38 years at the United Nations, his work that actually transformed the United Nations where Robert created 11 of the 34 UN agencies.
Chapter 7 shows the horrors of war and Robert sees the destruction of beautiful towns as he walks from the train on destroyed tracks. “If we have to fight, how do we make the world any better? You can’t change it with willpower, but maybe if you let your imagination wander, it will show you a better way.” Robert avoided being drafted by willing his body to get sick. Every one of our thoughts, good or bad, becomes concrete and a reality. Robert ended up in the hospital with acute appendicitis, which saved him from fighting in the “stupid war”.
Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Even willing to be sick which kept Robert out of the war. Robert told his wife Barbara that he was the only graduate from his high school that did not die because of war. The tragedies of war are shown in vivid descriptions by author Douglas Gillies. A hard chapter to read, but this is one episode you will want to invite others to watch with you!
Robert Muller’s 100th Anniversary will be March 11, 2023. Each month, on the first Sunday at 9 am PST, for the next chapter of Prophet which will be explored with commentary from a guest intimately familiar with Robert and his work. His wife, Barbara Muller shares her stories of their world travels working for peace, and living in their cabin on Sacred Mount Rasur, in Costa Rica a short walk from University for Peace, that Robert co-created. Visitors marvel at the legend that predicted peace would go to the entire world from Mount Rasur. Jean Houston, Ph.D., said in her blurb on the back cover of PROPHET, “This powerful book is filled with stories and anecdotes that delight as they illuminate the path to greatness. Prophet ennobles as it instructs…..and the story of Robert Muller’s life is a testament to the glory of the human spirit.” Please read a chapter monthly and join us monthly on the first Sunday of each month at 9:00 am, Pacific, on Zoom 847 6098 0621.
